“Are you afraid of me?” The man’s voice was light, but his imposing manner was overwhelming so there was no way she could take him lightly.

“…I’m not.” When did she say she was afraid of him?

“Do you feel inferior?”

“Of course not!”

She raised her eyes and glared at him. Even if he was the most prestigious lord, it did not concern her. Why would she need to feel inferior just because the other party was high up there?

Hearing her answer, Zuo Hancheng seemed satisfied. His thin lips curled up into a small, handsome smile, but the voice coming out from his mouth was warm yet cool at the same time. She could not tell what he was thinking about. “Then, stay obediently in the hospital and nurse yourself back to health. Stop talking nonsense.”

Anhao blinked blankly. She felt a little dissatisfied, but after thinking about it carefully, he was right.

She was not afraid of him and was not concerned about whether she was a good match for him or not. They were already married. What was there to be sensitive about?

And so, she pursed her lips and pointed toward the door. “Then, can I be discharged? I’m so bored in the hospital…”

The three girls chattered about the things happening in school. Anhao then found out that something had happened to the Xu family. The two sons of the Xu family dropped out of school. It seemed that the Xu family had offended someone and they could not stay in A City anymore. They had been packing up for the past few days, ready to leave soon.

Anhao crunched on the chips in her hands as she merely listened to the two of them talk while she remained silent.

She was able to guess that it was related to Zuo Hancheng.

“This is strange! I heard it’s really hard to book a ward in this private hospital. Did your dad have a change of heart? Is he starting to treat you like a real daughter?” Chunchun questioned curiously.

Anhao coughed. The two of them had been great friends of hers for years now. They knew almost everything about her situation in the Gu family. Logically speaking, she did not have to hide from them but she really did not know how to explain the whole thing.

Suddenly, the door swung open. The doctor was holding an examination report as he said respectfully to the figure that came in right after him, “Mr. Zuo, Ms. Gu’s blood test result shows that everything is almost back to normal, if everything goes smoothly, she could be discharged in a few more days.”

Just as the doctor finished speaking, he then realized there were two other young ladies in the room. He was stunned for a moment and looked back at Zuo Hancheng who had entered through the door, “Mr. Zuo, this…”

“Oh my God!”

Huang Amao and Chunchun instantly stood up with a surprised expression. Their two pairs of eyes were staring hungrily at Zuo Hancheng like he was their prey.

Chunchun muttered quietly with an excited expression, “I thought that Mr. Yi was the most handsome of all, I didn’t think that there would be someone even more handsome! Ahhhh, my little heart! I’m gonna faint! Seeing such a handsome man, my heart is going to melt~.”

Huang Amao was also staring at the indescribably exquisite man in a dazed manner. She gulped visibly and grabbed hold of Chunchun’s arm. The two looked at Anhao who had on a rather strange expression, making them look at her inquisitively.

With their gazes piercing through her being, Anhao grinned. “Hehe.”

The corner of Huang Amao’s mouth twitched. “What do you mean ‘hehe’?” She lowered her voice and continued, “Tell us! Were you flirting around with this handsome guy all alone when you went missing the past few days?”

Anhao continued smiling mysteriously. “Hehe…”

F*ck! Zuo Hancheng was already standing right in front of them. If the both of them wanted to ask her about him they could at least wait, not drool all over him on the spot!

Zuo Hancheng stared placidly at the two female students who were around the same age as Anhao. “This is a patient’s ward. If the two of you are here to visit the patient, you have already seen her. Now could you please leave and wait for her to be discharged to see her again?”

Huang Amao and Chunchun looked at him unwittingly and nodded instinctively. They did not say another word as they waved their hands at him while smiling at him lustfully, and then they were gone like the wind.

Zuo Hancheng instantly glared at her and Anhao turned her head to avoid his eyes.

Since her rashes had finally appeared, the doctor said that she could be discharged soon. She could eat whatever she wanted and he could not control that!

The doctor was planning to provide an explanation about her diet but he read the atmosphere and it seemed as though he should not be in the room. As such, he simply found an excuse to take his leave.

The two of them were left alone in the ward. Anhao was still nibbling on the chips like a mouse. The munching sound of the crispy chips filled the now silent room.

She had just recovered and there were two big bags of junk food placed on the bed for the world to see. Zuo Hancheng could feel a slight throb on his temples, “You dare call someone to buy you junk food after you have just recovered?”

Anhao was stunned momentarily before she then uttered nonchalantly, “I have been here in the hospital for a week already! I have been eating porridge, all types of tasteless, liquidy food! Do you know how difficult it was for me to wait for the rashes to subside?! Since I’ve recovered, nothing would happen to me just from eating a little junk food!”

Seeing her pompous and self-righteous expression, Zuo Hancheng’s eyes turned cold. “Is being recovered your excuse for eating junk food? Gu Anhao, you are still a growing nineteen-year-old. Eating these kinds of food would affect every aspect of your growth. Are you disregarding what I’ve told you?”

Anhao bit into the chips unhappily. She put down the bag of chips and suddenly stood up, puffing up her chest as she said arrogantly, “How is it affecting my growth? Aren’t I growing well? As I see it, parts that should be curvy are curvy! I don’t need you to worry for me!”

The girl proudly puffed her chest up. Zuo Hancheng looked at her puffing up her chest and his brows were raised pointedly.

Seeing that he was silent, Anhao thought that she had made him speechless for once. Just as she was about to take a cup of jelly out from the bag, she suddenly heard his voice that seemed to be getting closer to her.

“Is that so? Why do I not see that? Come here, let me check for myself.”
